Dr. Matthew Burnett is a highly accomplished naturopathic physician with a passion for integrating evidence-based medicine and traditional/natural healing practices. He obtained his undergraduate degree from George Washington University followed by a degree in paralegal studies with an emphasis in environmental law. He earned his doctorate in naturopathic medicine with a master’s of science in acupuncture at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. He completed his Family and Integrated Medicine residency in Utah, certified by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education and sponsored by National University of Naturopathic Medicine. He and his wife, Rachel, opened a private practice, Utah Natural Medicine, in 2004 in Salt Lake City. With a firm belief in addressing the root cause of both acute and chronic conditions, Dr. Burnett specializes in combining dietary and life-style modifications with up-to-date, data-driven treatments. He has an added focus in auto-immune disease, environmental exposures, pediatrics, gastrointestinal health, pain management, and hormone replacement therapy. He is a member of the Utah Association of Naturopathic Physicians and has served as president, vice-president, and treasurer for the association. In those capacities, he has been fundamental in establishing and improving the scope of practice for naturopathic physicians in Utah. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Matthew enjoys exercise, music, gardening, and cuisine. Nature is especially meaningful to him and he enjoys getting out into the hills with his family and dogs. Having grown up mostly in Europe, he speaks French and Italian and believes in the importance of family meals. His life mission is to help the human community, both locally and globally, be healthy and live harmoniously with nature. Through his work as a physician he strives to make a positive impact by empowering his patients to achieve wellness and balance. |
